Questions About Allefies TMJ And Eustachian Tub Dysfunction
Hi. I went to a new ENt the other day. I am 24 years old and I have had TMJ for approxiamtely the past four months. My ear plugs up over little hills. I had my Eustachian Tube dysfunction tested a while ago and it came out as -22 on the right side and 0.5 on the left. This time, when they did it at this ENT it came 7out as 0.5 on the left and 0.7 on the right. The ENT said that this was normal. However the way they tested it was different The firtst ENT that tested it measured the Eustachian tube by putting a device as if they were looking in your ear and waiting until it beeped. This ENT tested it by putting ear plugs in my ear. Anyway, he said tha this may be related to an allergy. So, he is sending me to an allergist and for a Cat Scan of the sinuses. Are there different ways of testing the eustachian tube? Are there different type s of tympanograms? What is the ost effective way of testing the eustahian tube dysfunction? Are there different types of tymmpanograms. The thing is my ears never really plugged up like this before I had the TMJ. If it is an allergy can something be done approximately it to stop my ear from plugging up? I would appreciate any input.
