I am seeing a doctor this week for depression and OCD tendencies. Through my research of OCD I found some info on ADD and after doing stubborn online tests and reading approximately people who have it, I am lively environment that I do. In fact, after researching a huge part of my depression has lifted because I feel like this is what is wrong with me. It has followed me from childhood. I want to go back to school soon and I fear having the same problems as I did then. (subsequently I dropped out because I had so many problems and those feelings followed me until now).

When I go to my doctor I want to bring in everything I have found that i feel specifically relates to me. But here is where the tough part comes in. In my early 20's I took Ritalin twice for recreational use and it totally screwed me up. So I know that is not an option for me. However, after talking approximately my findings to a friend who has ADD, he suggested that I try what he takes, adderall. I only took it once and it worked wonders for me.

I don't know if I should tell my doctor that I took it or not, while researching I also came across several articles on people trying to get the ADD diagnosis for drugs. I have never been a drug taker, I experminted a few times when I was younger but that's it.

I really want to get this figured out so I can get my life on track but I am afraid if I go in with all this info at hand the doctor will think I am doing this just to get drugs.

Should I tell him i took the Adderall once and it helped or not?!?!
